The other day I had a craving for ropa vieja. I tried out this recipe I found via Googling best ropa vieja recipe.

The outcome

This was okay, though a bit sour. My 8 year old son took one bite and refused to eat it.

Notes for next time

I used flank steak which is a tough cut of meat. The recipe actually used a chunk of chuck which would've been more tender and fatty. Next time I'll try using chuck
I ended up using the whole 26 oz. can of crushed tomatoes instead of the 16 oz. the recipe called for. Maybe next time I'll measure out the exact quantity.
