I recently became a certified Delphi Programmer through Tekmetrics.
Converted one of my Delphi projects to an ActiveX form which can be viewed on-line here. Notice, however, that the ActiveX form is not digitally signed with Authenticode. The project is a simple program which displays the Memory Status for an individual Windows based computer. It requires Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to view.
I took the Inprise, International Delphi 4 Client/Server Foundations Examination cold turkey, meaning I didn’t study or prepare for it in any way. This way I could gauge what areas I need to prepare for when I take it again. I was 6 points from being certified on my first attempt without preparation.
Got a copy of Delphi 4 Professional…New bells and whistles include: Dockable toolbars, bitmap support in menus, code explorer, ActionLists, dynamic arrays, method overloading, parameter defaults etc. The Type Library editor has the additional feature introduced with C++Builder 3. I wasn’t able to evaluate the new CORBA and MTS support since it only comes with the Client/Server version. The IDE has improved with the use of the new menu style and dockable toolbars.
